About the Role

Join our Peripheral Frame Work (PFW) team! The PFW team creates and maintains advanced Hardware Abstraction Layers for our embedded controller platforms. This includes various communications interfaces, NAND file system, analog inputs, high current outputs.

While there will be some manual testing involved, the majority of your focus will be on developing creative solutions to automate as much verification as possible. Within this role you will have the opportunity to work in areas beyond test automation that interest you.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical and interpersonal skills and be capable of solving complex engineering problems in conjunction with the JCA engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of PFW.
• Help lead the development of custom hardware and software capable of automated testing of JCA’s various embedded controllers.
• Perform manual testing of hardware and software when required (automation preferred).
• Participate in reviews of hardware and software.
• Collaborate with various engineering groups.
• Take an active role in learning and the development of your skills.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited University. Candidates with differing educational backgrounds but relevant experience may also be considered.
• Experience in software development for microprocessor-based embedded systems (preferably using C or C++).
• Basic hardware experience (schematic and PCB layout).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
