About the Role

The goal of Autonomous and Precision Agriculture is to produce more crops with less effort and less impact on the environment. We work to address issues with labor shortages and sustainable growth. We are seeking a motivated individual for a unique opportunity to work in the verification and validation of autonomous and highly-automated machines for agricultural applications. The candidate who fills this role will be responsible for ensuring that JCA systems are safe, reliable, and perform as intended.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical and interpersonal skills and be capable of solving complex engineering problems in conjunction with the JCA engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Verification and validation of control systems for agricultural mobile machines through office (simulation environment) and in field work.
• Working with primarily electric control systems, and potentially hydraulics and pneumatics.

• Identify and develop innovative solutions for enhancement of capabilities and to address capability gaps.
• Perform research, development, and execute test strategies and plans.
• Writing, reviewing, and carrying out test procedures.
• Documenting test results including describing shortcomings in reports.
• Minor design to system modifications.
• Continuously find opportunities to remove inefficiencies and take measurable steps to create additional value for the team through continuous improvement practices.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited University. Candidates with differing educational backgrounds but relevant experience may also be considered.
• 2+ years experience in a verification and validation role, preferably for agricultural or automotive applications.
• Experience in the development and execution of test plans for complex systems or components.
• Previous experience coordinating the execution of test plans, including the selection and management of test facilities.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
